Re: do you have to download/ install all the CC apps/ programs?


Error code 41?

I was trying to install adobe after effects on my PC and every time i try to install it it just says error code 41 was unable to access critical file or directory if you know what this means or how to fix this help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi mo0nbase101,

 

Is it error code 41 or 42? Usually 42 is associated with the "unable to access a critical file or directory" message.

 

Is your Windows up to date? If not, update it so Windows is able to validate the digital certificate during installation. More info: Error code 42 or 72 when installing Adobe Creative Cloud.

 

If it is indeed error code 41, can you provide a screenshot of the error as well as info about your operating system? That will help us better troubleshoot.

Okay, 41 is not an error code I've seen, but the message suggests that, for whatever reason, Windows isn't able to make a secure verification of the installation files, and so it's not letting it go through.

 

Some more questions (just what you wanted, right? ):

  1. Does your computer meet all system requirements—After Effects System Requirements—including being a 64 rather than 32 bit version of Windows 10 (How Do I Know if I’m Running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows)? After Effects only works with 64 bit.
  2. Do you have antivirus software running? If so, temporarily disable it and try installing again. Same thing goes if you're behind a firewall.
  3. Are you trying to install from the Creative Cloud desktop app or directly from Adobe After Effects CC | Visual effects and motion graphics software. What happens if you try the method you haven't been using?
  4. Have you ever had AfterEffects on this computer before?
  5. Do you currently or have you in the past had other Adobe software installed?

 

There is also this forum thread where someone was able to work around Error Code 41 with a little task manager wizardry: Felkod 41 / Error code 41. The situation isn't exactly the same, but it may help.

 

Finally, if none of that fixes the issue, you can try to pinpoint exactly what's going wrong by following the steps in Troubleshoot Adobe Creative Cloud install issues with log files.

short term membership

Hi,

I am just after finishing a 7 days free trial.  I would like to still use Premier Pro CC , but only for a short period of time. Is there any way around that can fix me lets say for a month. Can I buy it just for a month ? or do I have to get one year membership with a monthly pay ?

I would hope your issue has been resolved by now but In case not or for anyone else with this issue, try running the program as an Administrator, this is what finally worked for me after trying all the other 'solutions', i.e., Changing folder permissions, uninstall, cc cleaner tool, re-install (multiple times) all with the same Error 16 result.

Hey Folks,

sorry for the missleading title.

 

Since i upgraded my PC to SSD and m.2 SSD,  my

CreativeCloud kinda drives me like crazy. I allready asked the Support-Chat, but he has just told me to uninstall everything and rund the Adobe Cleaning Tool.

 

So said, everything was done but the Problem still exists. Let me explain.

 

I've told Creative Cloud to install everything on Volume D:/Programms. It will install Lightroom Classic CC and Premiere Pro CC/Media Encoder CC on this Drive except Photoshop CC. This will always be installed on E:/Installer, wich is a total other Volume.

 

Dont know, why Creative Cloud is doing this but it drives me crazy. I'm able to move the Photoshop 2018 Folder into D:/Programms and Photoshop starts without any problems but then I wont see it in Creative Cloud wich may think, it's not installed.

 

So now it's your turn, any ideas what I'm able to do that everything will be installed in "D:/Programms"?

 

Oh and sorry for the mistakes in my grammar - I'm native german so you have to excuse. Oh and by the way - the screenshots are in German so dont wonder ;-)

i don't know where that setting is located.

 

you could try another clean install (but do it completely, if you do it).  i just don't know if it's worth it because the problem doesn't seem severe enough (to me).  but if you feel differently:

 

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 3 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Starting Lightroom causes a loop aroud subscription. What am I doing wrong?

I have a valide licence. On my other computer Lightroom works. If I start Lighroom on this desktopcomputer (Windows10) I get the screen with the message that subscription is nessesary. I confirm. The next screen tells me that the licence is given to my email-adress. When I push the button to go on there is not happening anything.Until I get the message again that subscription is nessessery.

These 2 messages keep me in a loop where I can't escape. That's why I can't work in Lightroom.

Have you got a clue whats going wrong and how I can stop the loop and start with this app?

I am trying to update Lightroom Classic but keep getting this error code "11e610b6-b22c-4db6-9148-bd49c3033f42". Anyone have any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it? I bought a new nikon D850 and lightroom will not open any images taken with it.
