Re: Creative Cloud or Application manager?

Re: Issue with downloading any adobe application from Creative cloud (Installation Failed 15)

I would request to ensure that the installation of these two database files (media.db and local media.db) is not corrupted (don't display 0 bytes) and try providing full read and write permissions to media.db file , to do so go to  ~Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Caps.

If it still fails then you'll need to uninstall all Adobe products and then run the CC Cleaner tool to make sure nothing is left "Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems" and the reinstall the products "Download Creative Cloud desktop app".

Let us know if this helps.

I have been into that. I've checked the files and the relevant permissions are as stated.

Hi Carolina_2,

Sorry that you are having trouble installing your Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app, as you have mentioned you are getting "Error 50" and "Creative Cloud is missing or damaged" while trying to install it and you have tried almost all basic troubleshooting steps to resolve it however the issue still persists.

I would recommend you refer to the following help documents and see if that helps:

"Failed to install" error received when installing Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app

Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve this problem, is missing or damaged.

Let us know if this helps.

I can log in but I get a blank screen, then I get signed out

I've tried every solution on here (network settings, re-installing CC desktop app, deleting particular temporary files, running as administrator, etc.).  I also did a screen share for a couple hours with Adobe Support, which did not resolve the problem. My problem is that I can log in, but I get a blank screen and/or spinning circle.  Then I get logged out after about 30 seconds and I get the sign-in screen again, or an error message that Creative Cloud is missing and needs to be reinstalled.

This is on a fresh installation of Windows 10 running in Virtualbox on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.  Every other application requiring an internet connection (including, e.g., Office 365) works properly, but I'm locked out of my Creative Cloud account!  I'm losing serious money from not being able to work, please help!

Analysis of the network traffic suggests that it's an issue with communications from Adobe's servers.  My co-workers have no problems, so it can't be the router.  I also can access all the Adobe servers directly from Windows, so it looks like it's not a LAN issue or local firewall issue.  Despite this, I tried turning off the firewall in RHEL 7 as well as opening ports 80 and 443, and turning off Windows firewall, but no luck.  I have tried every permutation of running things as Administrator or not.

I verified that Adobe's servers can respond to my Windows installation by analyzing the traffic between the host adapter and Adobe:

As you can see, communication is happening fine between the Windows virtual machine and Adobe's server.  However, I never get past the first transaction with the server.

I followed up with the support tech who I screen shared with and he wrote back that virtualization is not supported.  However, there is no mention of virtualization in the terms of service.  I am really wondering what the problem is.  FYI, I can't use my bare metal Windows installation due to it becoming corrupted, which is why I turned to my backup Linux installation. Any ideas?

How do I uninstall CC programs?

I am not an Adobe user, just trying to clean up this computer, remove unwanted programs.

The advice I found on the web doesn't help.  It appears I need to install something before I can uninstall?

"clicking the Creative Cloud icon in your taskbar" -- there is no such thing in my taskbar

Besides all the potential solutions posted here, I've found another one that worked for me.

Short answer: What worked for me was disabling IPV6 on network adapter options.

Long answer:

Currently, my ISP only provide connections to IPV4,  so if I try to connect to an IPV6 address it will time out. But, my router assign both IPV4 and IPV6 to my network adapter. In some cases (and I don't know why) Windows will give priority to the IPV6 address when resolving a hostname - this behavior is fine when in a browser, which switch to the IPV4 when the IPV6 takes too long to answer, but for most of apps it will not look for the IPV4 address and will fail infinitely. This affected both Creative Cloud app and iTunes (and CMD as well, that's how I discovered the bug with the ping command). But after disabling the IPV6 option both started working perfectly, since Windows automatically dropped the IPV6 priority when resolving addresses.

Maarten4132652 you could utilize the Traceroute or Ping command on the servers listed.  If a software firewall is involved though then it may still show as successful with either of those commands.

Software firewalls can restrict access based off application, servers, and ports they are requesting to access.  If you are unfamiliar with the configuration of any installed firewall software then I would recommend contacting the manufacturer for assistance.

Adrianb89419726 this discussion is from 2014 but the solution is still valid.  If you are unable to correct the relevant file permissions then your last chance to correct the error will be to create a newly created local administrator account.  Which operating system are you encounter Error 16 on Adrianb89419726?  In addition which Adobe software title are you using?

Neverending software license popup & test version of Photoshop

$

Hello everyone,

I know these are quite common problems and that many threads exist about that already but I tried many things suggested in the threads and nothing worked, so I have to go for it again...

Here's my story:

1) After a windows update (I'm using Windows 7; Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)) I got the known issue of a neverending "your software license is checked" window popping up again and again and again when I tried to start Photoshop. I checked for possible solutions including suggestions from this thread: adobe software license agreement keeps popping up after installing CC 2014 apps . I did delete SLCache and OOBE folder and also deleted the software_agreement.xlm (don't remember the exact name)

2) Since this didn't work I did a system recovery to the point before the windows update. I got that eternal software license window pop up again.

3) Until then I was still using Adobe Photoshop 2015. So I updated it to Photoshop 2017 to see if this helps. This time I didn't get the software license window anymore but now I only got the test version although I have a full Creative Cloud subscription including PS. I could work with the 7-day-trial version and hoped that after this time it would switch to normal like the other apps. But now I got a testversion over note beneath the app's name and when I try to start it, I get the endless software license window pop up again.

Of course I checked the forums to get help and it seems like I have the issue of the never ending software license window combined with the false test version issue.

Following the tips of users from this forum, I have repeatedly

- tried to use a system restore point before the whole mess: no result

- deinstalled and reinstalled ALL CC apps manually, including CC desktop app itself: no result

- deinstalled everything using the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe; yes, I let it run as administrator and I repeated this like 3 times with reboots inbetween. I also deinstalled non-cc-related apps and adobe stuff.

- I even went into all kind of directories in the user-folder and deleted everything that had the name adobe on it (whole folders with sub-folders) and rebooted and installed everything again: no result. Whenever I download cc and install it and then install photoshop, it says my test period has ended and I get the neverending software license window.

I don't know if this information helps somehow: I run cc with the same account on a second computer (an iMac) and this works without any issues, photoshop is licensed and runs flawlessly.

Thanks for your attention & help
